CAUSER IN THE UNITED KINGDOM

DISTRIBUTION OF CAUSER IN UK

As was the case with Corser, Causer christenings in the IGI (left map) are mainly concentrated in the west Midlands region, with the largest number of occurrences in Shropshire, and much smaller numbers in Staffordshire, Worcestershire and Warwickshire. There are very small numbers in Lancashire, South Yorkshire and around Glasgow on the west side of Scotland, and slightly more in London.

In the 1881 census (centre map) Causer is still mainly concentrated in the west Midlands region, but the highest concentration of occurrences is in Staffordshire. The name is found in significant numbers in Derbyshire and, like Corser, in Lancashire. There has been a spread of the name into Yorkshire and the south east of England, especially in London.

The Millennium (right map) has seen the name spread into nearly all counties of England, Wales and Scotland. There are a high number of occurrences in London, Lancashire, Merseyside, Derbyshire and West Yorkshire, but the highest concentrations of Causer  occurrences are in Staffordshire and, as with Corser, the new county of West Midlands.
